Three Serie A matches called off due to coronavirus outbreak

  • Internazionale v Sampdoria one of the matches to be postponed
  • Games across all tiers in Italy cancelled

Serie A matches in the northern Italian regions of Lombardy and Veneto will not be played on Sunday because of an outbreak of the coronavirus, the government said in a statement.

The three impacted fixtures are clashes between Internazionale and Sampdoria, Atalanta against Sassuolo and Hellas Verona against Cagliari. There was no indication of when the games might be rescheduled.
